Canoe the Ba Be Lakes, Vietnam
You start in Hanoi, the famous and 1000 year old city offering you glimpses of its heritage and cultural past, with its famous pagoda’s, temples and of course Old quarter a maze of winding streets full of shops ready for you to barter a bargain. After you have acclimatized we begin our journey into the more remote regions and less known areas, we start in Ba Be, home to a vast lake and also home to over 300 types of flora and fauna. Here you get to paddle along the river and lake and take a swim in the clear warm waters. Enjoying the dramatic backdrop of mountains all around, it is a place you will not want to forget or possibly leave.
From Ba Be Lake we continue to Ha Giang, and deliver you to Heaven Gate the highest mountain in this region. Here you will discover several smaller villages and the local Hmong people in the colorful traditional dress and be staggered by the views over the limestone plateau of Dong Van. Then we proceed towards Panhou, taking in the Royal Villa of Vuong Chi Sinh, a mixture of Chinese and European styles a sight to be seen. When we arrive in Panhou you have time to mix and meet the locals and discover the entire area, perhaps even having herbal bath from the Dao tribe!
We leave the Dao tribe behind and head to Bac Ha, here you meet one of the most colorful tribes in the world, they are affectionately known as the Flower Hmong tribe, due to their women brightly colored skirts. After such a bright and incredible display of colors and scenes, we head towards the impressive and majestic Halong bay. Here you will sail amongst the famous rock formations sharing their myths and secrets with you whilst giving you the perfect place to reflect on the incredible journey you have just discovered all for yourself.
