ITINERARY
Day 1
Setting off from Hue at whatever times suits you (the earlier the better), you can cruise out to Thuan An beach and follow the coast road through small fishing villages and cemeteries all the way down to Cua Tu Hien where you cross the new bridge and turn right to follow the road to take you down to Highway 1.
At the Highway you take a left and start your ascent of the Phuoc Tuong Pass before following a straight stretch of Highway for about 20kms where you will come to the Phu Gia Pass. As you descend on the other side of this pass you will see some beautiful views out of Lang Co, but you ain't seen nothing yet!!
Once you have passed through Lang Co, stopping for a bite to eat and a swim at the beautiful Lang Co beach, you will start your ride up the legendary Hai Van Pass. Remember to keep your eyes on the road as you experience some of the most breathtaking views in Vietnam. Once you reach the top, stop for a cold drink and explore the old lookout turrets used by both the French and the Americans in war time.
Then glide down the other side into Danang, resisting the urge to take your eyes off the road for too long. Navigate your way through Danang and pay a visit to Marble Mountain where you can count the steps to the top and haggle with the souvenir sellers at the bottom. After all this climbing and haggling you can literally cross the street to China Beach and have a cold beer at Hoa's Place. His is a pleasant little guest house just metres from the beach, with a very laid back atmosphere.
When you are ready you can head off to Hoi An arriving at your drop off point just before 6pm to collect your bags and hand over your motorbike.
Please Note: A self drive tour can be arranged for anybody who holds a motorcycle licence from their country of origin.
